Awards Banquet - The Awards Banquet will be on Friday, 29 May 2020. Be on the lookout for more information and volunteer opportunities. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact the 5th Grade Awards Banquet Chair at Awards@bbepta.com.
BizTown - On TBA 2020, JA BizTown will engage 5th grade students in the role of workers and consumers in a series of classroom lessons that culminates in a day-long visit to JA BizTown, a fully-interactive simulated town. Through daily lessons, hands-on activities, and active participation in the simulated community, students develop a strong understanding of the relationship between what they learn in school and their successful participation in a worldwide economy.
The Nutcracker - Every year, right before Winter Break, the 5th graders put on a performance of The Nutcracker. It is an amazing sight to see 110 students dressed as Toy Soldiers, Sugar Plum Fairies, and Bakers dancing and singing together. Mark your calendar for Monday, 09 December to see this annual performance. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact the 5th Grade Nutcracker Chair at Nutcracker@bbepta.com.
Patriots Day - On Friday, 15 November, 5th grade students celebrate a wonderful learning opportunity called Patriots Day. The students will learn what life was like in the colonies for those who founded this great nation of ours. Their day will be filled with music, crafts, games, education, and songs that our forefathers experienced. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact the 5th Grade Patriots Day Chair at Patriots@bbepta.com.
T-Shirt Contest - Each year, the 5th grade students vote on a design by one of their peers to be used on a special t-shirt that can be worn throughout their final year at BBE. The design is placed on the front of a white t-shirt and Class of 2027 and all of the students’ names are printed on the back.
Veterans Day Program - On Friday, 11 November, BBE is having a special celebration honoring our veterans. We begin the day with an assembly at 8:30 a.m. that recognizes these heroes and their families, followed by a reception for our guests. All veterans and their families are welcome to attend. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact the Veterans Day Chair at Veterans@bbepta.com.
Volunteers of the Month
We are so thankful for our volunteers!
Lara Durand: For helping so much with the ticket sales booth at FF. She was there the entire night, accommodating as many people as she could. It was so very helpful knowing she was there as I ran around like a crazy person! She was even-keeled and in good spirits the entire time...even when we were at our busiest!! So thankful for her!
Michelle Parker / Alison Davis / Barbara Goodwin: Helping in the library and for being available whenever and wherever I need them.
Debra Bache / Julie Geter / Michelle Parker / Katrina Bailey / Clara De Ridder / Brook Erwin (also for help with Nutcracker) / Tina Pawlik: I had a lot of help on Santa's Workshop, but these volunteers did the most!
Ircka West: For doing an amazing job on Santa's Workshop!!
