Bike Rodeo is scheduled for Friday, August 26! With the help of parents, community members, and the Houston Police Department, this annual Healthy Lifestyles event aims to educate our youngest Bears (students K-2nd grade) in bike safety. Our primary focus is on learning and obeying road rules, showing respect for other road/trail users, and safe bike riding. Their day will begin with a safety talk with officers from Houston Police Department's Bike Patrol. Followed by a run through our bike course in our back parking lot. Students will go through a helmet check, bike and tire check, and finally, a short bike course. If your student would like to participate in the bike course, please send your students to school with their bike, helmet, lock, and water bottle. (Participation in the bike course is optional.)
You may drop off bikes at the back parking lot on Friday morning. We ask that you pull as close to the bike parking lot as possible so as not to impede the flow of normal drop-off traffic. Safety patrol will be available to assist your student with locking his/her bike at the bike racks.
Please feel free to email me at bikerodeo@bbepta.com if you have any questions or concerns.
