Parent's Guides to Student Success--click here

The Parents’ Guides to Student Success were developed by teachers, parents and education experts in response to the Common Core State Standards that more than 45 states have adopted.

Created for grades K-8 and high school English, language arts/literacy and mathematics, the guides provide clear, consistent expectations for what students should be learning at each grade in order to be prepared for college and career.

National PTA, in partnership with the National Education Association, is pleased to offer newly updated Family Guides. These guides can help parents and caretakers find valuable tips for helping their child succeed in key learning areas.

PTA leaders, teachers, parents and families should use these guides to engage families in education throughout a child’s academic career.

Media Madness

Television, iPods, iPads, laptops tablets and smart-phones… Today’s kids are exposed to an average of seven hours of “screen-time” each and every day, and the impact of those media messages can shape many of their perceptions and actions. These resources from the Media Madness program provides parents and caregivers the tools to successfully manage their children’s “screen time,” effectively monitor media messages and content, and realistically modify your approach as children grow and technology advances.
